State of the Link <DETAIL_DESCRIPTION> The cacLinkState variable can take the values: * uninitialised is an initial MIB value which is never returned to without staring from a new MIB. * configuring indicates that the CAC on that link cannot be used at the current time. This indicates that CAC is booting, an EBT is being loaded. This is a transient state that will go to ready or recalculating. * recalculating indicates that the sums for both eb and scr-pcr are cleared and are recalculated for the existing connections. * ready indicates that CAC may be used on that link. The state machine is given in Figure3. Transitions out of the ready state can be caused by a boot, an EBT load or the call back functions on (per link) Enable and Version. Whether the transition from configuring back to ready is direct or via recalculating depends on whether or not there is a need to recalculate the effective bandwidth sums; this depends on several factors that can be derived from the detailed design in Section6.2.4.7. The value of the cacLinkState variable is valid and indicates the current link state of the CAC indepenently of the value of cacEnable, cacVersion and cacEbtState. When cacLinkState is configuring, certain CAC functions are disabled: * Requests to the allocate, deallocate and allocation_change service routines will be rejected without processing. * Requests to the allocation summary routine may produce inconsistent results. When cacLinkState is recalculating, certain CAC functions are disabled: * Requests to allocation_change and deallocate service routines will be rejected without processing. * Requests to the allocation summary routine may produce inconsistent results.
