The value of this object is the priority field which is contained in the first (in network byte order) octet of the (2 octet long) Port ID. The other octet of the Port ID is given by the value of fcbStpVpVirtualPortId. The port priority is used with its extra cost and its MAC address for the STP algorithm in order to grade the ports of the bridge in order of preference. This concept is used by the STP algorithm to elect the root port and to detect a loop so as to determine the port to be cut off. This is a decimal integer in the range 0 to 255. The default value is '128'.
