This attribute represents the number of file uploads to be performed. The CMTS generates a latency report file when this value is set to a non-zero value. The CMTS starts generating a latency report file when this value is set to a non-zero value. The CMTS closes close the current latency report file and decrement NumFiles by 1, when the SnapshotDuration * NumSnapshots period is complete, except when NumFiles is set to 255, in which case the value of NumFiles remains at 255. When the value of NumFiles is set to 255, the CMTS MUST retain the value when a cable modem de-registers and re-registers with the CMTS since the value 255 means the CMTS is configured for unlimited file generation. When the value of NumFiles is other than 255, the CMTS may retain the value when a cable modem de-registers and re-registers with the CMTS. The CMTS should close the current latency report file, discontinue file generation, and transfer or retains the file according to requirements defined in 'CCAP Bulk Data Requirements' if the NumFiles attribute is set to zero or decrements to zero or if the CM deregisters.
