Loopback Test can be supported on both DSU/CSU and ISDN. Loopback can be local, Network, or Remote. Local loopback means outgoing serial data is looped back toward DTE device. Network loopback triggers the local node to loopback any incoming serial data back to the network. Remote loopback triggers the far end node to loopback any serial data received from the network. A local loopback test is stopped by entering a Ctrl-C.
